We just got back from a walk to an old maple sugar shack out in the woods. Funky little structure with a woodstove and a boiler for boiling down the 90 gallons of sap to make a gallon of liquid heaven. Now we are settling in to work on the game. Not a bad life if you don't weaken. D-mon Thankee, man.

Weird El Nino winter, huh. with all the cold on the W Coast and Moscow getting no snowfall yet for the first time since 1870! Apparently Russians are quite depressed, as they rely on snow to brightne gloomy winter days. Authorities are installing extra streetlamps and telling people to wear bright clothing...
